Domestic Violence, the Bible and the Church

Pastor Jamey Smith of Riverside Church in Three Rivers, Michigan survived domestic abuse in his childhood. Today he helps others navigate this traumatic experience as a Pastor. When so many abusers twist scripture and church teachings, it can be a scary thing to approach a Pastor. But Jamey says the Bible is very clear: domestic abuse is not okay.

In this conversation, guest host Dan Moyle and Pastor Jamey Smith take on the ways in which perpetrators of violence twist scripture and unpack what God says about abuse and oppression.
