A major fundraiser for DASAS each year is our Walk a Mile in Their Shoes community event in Three Rivers. Since 2012, on the second August each year, a group of supporters gathers to raise awareness, bring pledges, and literally walk a mile in another’s shoes — men in high heels, women in men’s shoes, people of all walks of life in their own shoes; all of us together.

The idea behind the event is to encourage all of us to build empathy through walking a mile in someone else’s shoes.
